Welcome to my world of colors, shapes, and emotions. I am Yvonne Abwini, a passionate artist dedicated to figurative art and portrait painting.

My artistic journey began with a deep fascination for the human face and the stories it tells. Every line, every shadow, and every nuance reveals something about the soul of the subject – and it is precisely this depth that I strive to capture in my works.

I primarily work with water-mixable oil paints, acrylics, and mixed media. I am particularly fascinated by working with textures – experimenting with different materials and techniques has opened up a new dimension in my art.

My Philosophy

"She's made of moonlight, wildflowers, and quiet strength. A storm behind her eyes, a calm in her soul."

These words, which I wrote for my piece "Liora," reflect what I seek in each of my portraits: the dual nature of being human – vulnerability and strength, storm and stillness, the visible and the hidden.

I believe that true beauty lies in authenticity. My art is not a search for perfection, but a celebration of uniqueness. Each portrait tells a story – sometimes loud and powerful, sometimes soft and tender.

Through my work, I want to touch people and invite them to look deeper – both at the canvas and within themselves.

Techniques & Materials

My art emerges through the interplay of various media and techniques, which I employ based on the mood and message of each work.

Oil Painting

Water-mixable oil paints on canvas allow me to achieve deep, luminous colors and soft transitions that breathe life into my portraits.

Mixed Media

The combination of different materials and textures gives my works a tactile dimension and visual depth.

Charcoal & Acrylic

For expressive contrasts and emotional depth, I work with charcoal and acrylic paints, often in combination.
